So this is Christmas
The feeling is just different; there is something in the air that makes you happy, giddy, and just plain excited. It is the time of the year we all look forward to. And so, here it is….Christmas!
>The lantern parade in UP Diliman was not that great. Despite the angry protests against the tuition fee increase, nothing has stopped the creativity and ingenuity seen on the lanterns walking like giants along the streets. To compensate for that lost excitement, we just had dinner in Choolate Kiss. And it was well paid off. After we indulged ourselves for some fancy stuffs and a plate of cake, we took a stroll and to our amazement, we caught a group of students dancing in the rhythm of African music in front of Abelardo Hall. Afterwhich we took some snapshhots of the beautifully lit Quezon Hall (where the mighty oblation stands). We could see some banners and flags that echo their yearning to stop the increase in student fees. But that’s another story…Anyhow, on my way home, I could not stop thinking how happy I was that day.
> Our christmas party in the clinic was also something worth noting. Its not because Im the host. Why am i happy? At the very last minute we were able to come up with a simple solution to a megaton problem. And that is what matters..
> Our barkada reuninon. For the first time we were complete in this rendezvous. As they say, there is strength in numbers, and that was inevitable. We were laughing our hearts out when somebody cracks jokes about somebody else. This is our cup of tea, i guess. This is something that binds us together as friends. I guess this is our commonality…
>This Christmas…plain and simple. Nah, it isn’t so simple. It was great, actually! And I have a lot of things to be thankful for. This year has been so kind. I was blessed with so many friends, an opportunity to do something far beyond the ordinary , a career that is geared towards humanitarian service (naks!), a chance to be in a school I’ve always wanted, and the happiness of just loving and being me. Thank you Lord.
> I don’t want to sound so selfish that I broadcast or patronize myself too much. Christmas is for everyone, and that inludes hungry children running on the streets and asking for money , the elderly waiting to be visited in institutions, the victims of natural calamities looking for a place to stay. I know that despite their frailties and burdens, there are some who are ready to share what they have. Afterall, its the season of giving, and when we give a part of ourselves, we become a blessing to someone. So be a blessing and make a difference.
Well, blame it on the cold wind that I am suddenly more sentimental than the usual. And Merry Christmas everyone! Thanks for reading my blogs!
